Ashover Light Railway
Clay Cross Model Railway Society has been gifted a model based around the Ashover Light Railway.
Ashover Light Railway was a narrow gauge railway that ran between Ashover and Clay Cross, via Milltown, Woolley, Stretton and Holmgate.
The model is realised in two gauges a 16.5mm narrow gauge model of the ALR, with a 30mm standard gauge main line.
The model was gifted by the late Mr. Ralph Gibbons of Tupton, and consists of a number of hand built trackwork and rolling stock, and a variety of scenic models, including the infamous Chesterfield Road Bridge, and the Rainbow Cafe.
It is hoped to complete the layout with a view to exhibiting in the future.
Anyone interested in assisting in this venture should come along to society meetings on Tuesday and Thursday nights, from 7PM.
